Taiwan rock singer Shin and mainland actress-director Xu Jinglei film a music video for Shin’s new single, “Farewell Era.” The song is from Shin’s latest album, “Take Me to the Star,” slated for release on October 17, 2008.
Yoko Ono, John Lennon’s widow, is perhaps most famous for her association with John Lennon. But outside their marriage, she is a first-class artist in her own right.
Now, the still-vigorous 75-year-old will open her first Chinese solo exhibition at Shanghai’s Ke Center for the Contemporary Arts on November 22. The title of the exhibition is “Yoko Ono — Fly.”
Ono will give a display of performance art, named Onochord, on the opening day, where she will act out a process of molting. Not only is Ono an artist – she is also the exhibition organizer. She has been preparing the event since last year.
Nine significant installation artworks reflect her experiences and thoughts over 50 years. Her artworks are simple but powerful, focusing on life and death, renaissance, exchange, faith, women’s liberation, and peace.

The song “You Feel My Love” and its music video were released Tuesday, roughly two months ahead of the release of the much-anticipated biopic of Peking opera legend Mei Lanfang. [ via Sina.com.cn reports ]
Leon Lai, who plays Mei Lanfang and has been a pop singer himself, directed and produced the video. “For a long time, I couldn’t take the film off my mind,” Lai said.
No stranger to singing, this however is Zhang Ziyi’s first music video of her own music. The actress, who plays Mei Lanfang’s fellow singer Meng Xiaodong, said the video took her back to the days of shooting the film. “The character is one of my favorite,” Zhang said, calling the love between Meng and Mei her “most impressive on-screen romance.”
Shooting of “Mei Lanfang,” the latest work directed by the Golden Palm-winning Chen Kaige, was finished in February. It is currently in post-production.
