The controversial Hong Kong celebrity couple Vivian Chow and Joe Nieh published their wedding photos on January 5, 2009. Actress Chow, 41, and writer Nieh, 44, were married on the same day in a private ceremony that was only accessible to family members and friends. Their marriage came shortly after Nieh was spotted kicking another girl.

Hong Kong actor and filmmaker Stephen Chow has resigned as director of the action movie adaptation of the classic U.S. television series “Green Hornet” because of creative differences, according to Variety magazine.

Producer Neil Moritz now must find a new director for the project so filming can start in the spring, the report said.

Chow told Hong Kong media on Friday that he is arranging other works and is not sure whether he will still play the role of Kato, the Green Hornet’s faithful sidekick, who was originally played by Bruce Lee in the 1966 television series.

“The production company, Sony Pictures, really wants me to join the cast,” Chow told the Hong Kong-based Sing Tao Daily. “I’m also very fond of the character, but it will depend on my work schedule next year.”

It has been reported that Chow is gestating another Hollywood superhero blockbuster that he will write and direct as well as play a role in. Hollywood actors Jack Black and Anne Hathaway may be cast as the movie’s leads, reports said, although Chow has not confirmed the news.

Chow is known internationally for his humorous kung fu movies “Shaolin Soccer” in 2001 and “Kung Fu Hustle” in 2004. Last September, he signed on to direct and costar in “Green Hornet,” which was expected to be his Hollywood debut.

19 November proudly marks the 41st anniversary of TVB, the world’s largest producer and distributor of Chinese-language programmes. As in the past, TVB will bring to its worldwide audience a particularly attractive line-up in November as a celebration of its birthday. American-born idol Leah Dizon (22) is now a married woman. Dizon finished her first tour with a show in Shibuya on Tuesday, and just before her last song, she shocked all of her fans by announcing that she got married last Friday.

Dizon’s husband is reportedly a Japanese stylist that she met through work. They met about a year ago when he was involved in a shoot for one of Dizon’s CD jackets. They became friends after Dizon began consulting with him about work, and it developed into a relationship. The man is said to be older than the idol, but still in his twenties.

The couple recently discovered that Dizon is pregnant, and they decided to get married. A press conference with more details is being held on Wednesday.

Taiwan rock singer Shin and mainland actress-director Xu Jinglei film a music video for Shin’s new single, “Farewell Era.” The song is from Shin’s latest album, “Take Me to the Star,” slated for release on October 17, 2008.
